Nice specimens Dave, quite a rarity these days, I have an old list from the mid eighties that has Stichophthalma howqua formosana on, 100 males for £50, if only I had them stored in the freezer, mind you the same list has 100 Papilio hoppo males for £45 and Agehana maraho for £55 each. Taiwan protected all its flora and fauna a while back most that you see are from old collections, I have seen one seller on eBay selling Taiwan specimens but couldn't help me with howqua formosana unfortunately.
Thanks, Olivier worth a shot if you find it.

Sorry Rich, I have checked my mail box and cannot find his address.
I have changed my email few years ago, I guess I was in contact with him before that, and cannot find his email anymore now... I should have better noted his email somewhere, stupid me...

Just recieved this morning from Thanh (vietnaminsects) stichophthalma neumogeni regulus ? , it's definitely neumogeni and from this locality it should be s.sp regulus but it's a very dark specimen, I'll be setting it soon and once off the boards it will be appearing on my website. Rich

Well it looks nothing like the nominate pictured above it, it's a male and nothing like the s.sp regulus pictured in Butterflies of Vietnam vol.3... Rich

Hi Rich Very nice acquisition. I only have a couple male S neumogeni. Both Chinese examples & not that good. Hopefully Thanh will have some more of those to offer. I set a female S fruhstorferi this morning. A good deal larger than my males but quite dark in colouration. Also set a few S eamesi with much white/bluish white on the hindwings-really beautiful. Yes the females are very dark, nothing like those from the Tam Dao mountains which are more howqua colouration, males are quite small also, I've also got several of the stichophthalma uemurai found in the south, Binh Thuan province, they are also small, infact one is very small compared with those from Lam Dong province, also comes from a much lower altitude (300-700m), s.sp gailai from further north is larger than nominate.
